Media Markt tests renting of drones, smartphones and virtual reality devices

Media Markt, one of the largest European network of electronics stores, testing services where customers can rent for a month various devices, such as drones, smartphones or "glasses" virtual reality, writes Reuters. The company says it is needed because asttfel services changed customer behavior.

Media Saturn, part of Metro Group, launched on its website a service that allows customers to rent for a month or more than 500 products, from smartphones to robotic vacuum cleaners. The tests are only in Germany, but will be extended if paying off.

"Buying habits are changing. Consumers want more flexibility and more options," says Lennart Wehrmeier, operational director at Media-Saturn Deutschland.

Media Saturn working with a startup called Grover Berlin for this service, and founder Michael Cass says that through these rental products reach new categories of customers and sales may increase because many will see as they like and they will then buy products.
